The required minimum floor space for a handicapped accessible bathroom is 30 inches by 48 inches. Handicap accessible showers are easier to get in and out of than conventional showers or bathtubs. These compartments require 60 depth at a minimum. The toilet should be approachable in a wheelchair from the side or the front.
