Hearing Footsteps On Roof At Night

Hearing footsteps on roof at night. Mice or rats are your likely culprit. Communal living and sleeplessness will do it. They really sound like human footsteps or people running without shoes. I should also mention racoons birds and other animals make the same sound.

I have no idea what this is but i ve been hearing it for about a year. I am hearing them right now it actually sounds like a horses gallops. I live in brazil and i am living in a third floor with a roof of ceramic tiles on top of the normal concrete one. My cat can hear it.

There is no noise in. Occasionally when the house is very quiet you will hear them during the day as well. At first i thought there were animals on the roof but now i wonder. The cold at night was making the framing beams to expand and contract causing an annoying rhythmic ticking noise.

Hey just so you know i have footsteps on my roof at least 12 hours a day and sometimes at night it s called dem squirrels and if you want i can record it tomorrow morning lol. Expanding on footsteps i d regularly hear banging or knocking on doors and mistaken it for my father and being in trouble or the opening and closing of cabinets or doors in the kitchen. With rodents you ll usually hear them around bedtime and late at night. I constantly hear footsteps at night or early in the morning from 00 h to 05 h.

Trust me it sounds loud like a freaking human walking. Upon investigation no doors or cabinets would be opened or closed simply the noise. If you are hearing scratching noises specifically as well as scurrying sounds. I hear the footsteps as if they were running across the ceiling.

The roofing company used screws throughout the roof to help. I ve occasionally woken up to what i thought were foot step. Turns out the drywall wasn t secured properly to an exterior wall. I also just heard a bird.

Trust me i saw the builders building the roof and there were no kind of animals up there. The we still had this ticking noise going on in our bedroom. Ever since the building was reroofed about four years ago i ve heard knock like sounds mostly at night.
